The successful festivals Burning Man, Lollapalooza and Coachella have an unknown inspiration — a series of early 1980s guerilla music and art performance happenings in Southern California that combined performances and pyrotechnic demonstrations. Director Stuart Swezey, the creator and main organizer of these unique events in the Mojave Desert, exhumes the archives and speaks with various participants.
